Day 02 : Negambo /Anuradhapura/Habarana

Anuradhapura, a world heritage site, is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of North Central Province, Sri Lanka and the capital of Anuradhapura District. Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. It was the third capital of the kingdom of Rajarata, following the kingdoms of Tambapanni and Upatissa Nuwara.
It is believed that from the fourth century BCE until the beginning of the 11th century CE it was the capital of the Sinhalese. During this period it remained one of the most stable and durable centers of political power and urban life in South Asia. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over 16 square miles .

Day 03 : Habarana/Polonnaruwa/Minneriya/Habarana

Poḷonnaruwa is the main town of Polonnaruwa District in North Central Province, Sri Lanka.
The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first established by the Chola dynasty as their capital in the 10th century. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site.
Currently the new Polonnaruwa is undergoing a major development project known as the “Awakening of Polonnaruwa” under the concept of President Maithripala Sirisena. It envisions the development of all sectors in Polonnaruwa including roads, electricity, agriculture, education, health and environment will be developed comprehensively.
Evening do Minneriya Safari
Minneriya National Park is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938 area. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. The park is situated 182 kilometres from Colombo.

Day 04 : Habarana/Village tour/Sigiriya

Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high
According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. On
a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure — Sīnhāgiri, the Lion Rock.
The capital and the royal palace was abandoned after the king’s death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

Day 05 :Habarana/ Dambulla /Kandy

On the way Visit Dambulla rock cave temple. The name Dambulla derives from Damba (rock) and Ulla (fountain). This is one of the most impressive Buddhist Temples in the world, showing the evolution of the Sinhalese Buddhist art.
Afternoon excursion to Anuradhapura located in the northern central part of the island, Anuradhapura was the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Sri Lanka. It is the home of two UNESCO world heritage sites. Areas of interest include Sri Maha Bodhi (sacred Bo Tree) under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, it is over 2,200 years old and is the oldest historically documented tree in the world Day Spent at the leisure .
En-route visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. During Past history Sri Lanka known as Taprobane, was world renowned for its Quality Spices.
Afternoon leave on a sightseeing tour of Kandy; The last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is now a World Heritage Site, visit the lake built by the last Sinhala King in 1798, the bazzar, the arts & crafts center and a gem museum. Evening visit to the‘Temple of the Sacred Tooth’ containing the tooth of Buddha followed by a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing –

Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annuallyIt is near the Mahaweli River (the longest in Sri Lanka. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees
After Transfer to Nuwaraeliya for the Nuwaraeliya City tour
Nuwara Eliya, otherwise known as “Little England,” is an old-world town located in Sri Lanka’s beautifully lush hill country. Nuwara Eliya was a favorite holiday retreat for the crème de la crème of British society on the island. They turned this town, with its ideal cool temperature into a beautiful little town strongly reminiscent of England, from the architecture of the houses to the flowers that still peep out of every corner. To this day, Sri Lanka’s “Little England” remains almost completely untouched and you feel like you’ve skipped continents as you enter its city limits.

Day 07 : Nuwaraeliya/Yala

On the way Visit Rawana Ella Water Falls and 9arch Bridge.
One of the highlights in the mountain village Ella is the 30-meter high Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. With a small 30-minute walk through the jungle, you will reach a piece of beautiful architecture that is hidden between lush green tea fields. It is allowed to walk on the bridge and it’s one of the things you must do in Sri Lanka.
The stone train bridge, built by the British, with its nine beautiful arches, is located between Ella and Demodara station. The train ride in the highlands with the Kandy to Ella train is named as one of the most beautiful train rides in the world.
ELLA
Heading to ella rock on the leeward side of the central mountains. The view from Ella Gap is one of the most spectacular scenic sights in Sri Lanka – the landscape falls away in a dizzy drop of 3000ft to the eastern plains. . The 1080-foot high waterfall few miles from the Ella Rest House is one of the most beautiful falls in the country.
There after commence the journey to Yala. Upon arrival enjoy a jeep safari at Yala National Park.
YALA NATIONAL PARK
The Ruhunu National Park covers 126,786 hectares including the Strict Natural Reserve. Yala is famous for its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals.

GALLE Sri Lanka’s most historically interesting town is Galle. It was a major port until about 100 years, but today still handles shipping and sailing boats in the natural harbor. Stroll around the lighthouse and harbor or visit the old town where you can see the traditional lace makers and wood carvers and purchase some the finest souvenirs.
THE DUTCH FORTH
The South Coast’s major city is Galle, whose oldest landmark is the massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort which is a “World Heritage Site” in which the central city is contained. But the city may be much older. The original gate to the fort was by the harbor.
