Day 1 – Arrive at Quito

Upon arrival in Ecuador and landing in Quito our local representative will welcome you. In accordance with the landing time, we will take a short tour of Quito’s Old Town and from there we will continue towards Mitad del Mundo, the equator point where we will be photographed for a souvenir in the famous picture standing on both sides of the Equator line.

Late afternoon transfer to hotel in Quito.

Day 2 – The Market in Otavalo

This morning we will head towards the town of Otavalo. On the way, we will visit the famous town of Kiyamba well known for its famous biscuits.

Upon arrival at Otavalo, we will visit the local handicraft and crafts market famous in all of South America. We will continue north to Ibarra a town specializing in special woodwork. We will spend the afternoon in the Cotocachi village specializing in leatherwork and the observe lagoon near it at the foot of the volcano.

After an impressive day tour in the area north of Quito, we return to our hotel.

Day 3 – Cotopaxy Volcano

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for the Cotopaxi Volcano Nature Reserve. This active volcano is one of the highest in the world. Upon arriving at the reserve we will take a tour of the volcano’s footpath and we will marvel the spectacular views that are unique to the area. We also might see some smoke from the volcano.

Once done with the tour we”ll transfer to our hotel.

Day 4 – Kilotua Lake

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head towards the spectacular Lake Kilotoa which is in the center of an ancient inactive volcano. We will climb to a spectacular view of the lake and with appropiate time we can descend to the Meadow of the volcano

Day 5 – Banios

In the morning, after breakfast, we will leave the hotel and head to the waterfall area near  ​​the town of Banios near the active volcano Tongorhua. We will take an excursion by cable car to view the waterfalls We”ll hike between the waterfalls and in the afternoon watch a spectacular view of the active volcanoes that surround the area.

In the evening we”ll return to our hotel.

Day, 6,7,8 – The Amazon

The next few days we will have a special experience in South America hiking the famous Amazon forest. On this trip in the wild jungle we will tour the rich vegetation, get to know a variety of animals from the area, taste special foods, browse the lagoons and river, visit the reserve and visit the climax with local tribes that preserve their lifestyle over the years.

At the end of the eighth day transfer to our hotel in Quito.

Day 9 – Mindo Town

This day is dedicated to nature lovers and bird lovers among us. The town of Mindo which is about two hours drive north west of Quito is a paradise for nature lovers. The town is in the heart of mountains and jungle and is an ideal spot for watching nature, birds and various animals. We will tour during the day at the amazing nature reserve and after a few hours between bird, waterfalls and butterflies we will return to our hotel in Quito.

Day 10 – Back

This morning is leisure time for a trip to Quito.

Depending on the flight time, transfer to the airport for our flight back home.
